This is an authentic PARKA, WET WEATHER DSA- 100 4420 ISSUED BY THE USN. The previous owner was Mr. M A Ridell.
The jacket is obviously used and has some minor defaults. There is a tear in the hood seam, and the front cover under the tie-string from has been cut lower at some point.
These parkas were used in times of rough seas by submarine crew men. They would wear these when they went above deck on a submarine conning tower during watch out duty during WWII.
This is probably a later model, end of 1960’s, during the Vietnam era.
A very nice anorak, it looks and fells just right vintage. Not too worn, but still worn in.
